About the Author
Don Hansen is a Professor of Accounting at Oklahoma State University. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Arizona in 1977. He has an undergraduate degree in mathematics from Brigham Young University. His research interests include productivity measurement, activity-based costing, and mathematical modeling. He has published articles in both accounting and engineering journals including The Accounting Review and Accounting Horizons. His outside interests include playing basketball, watching sports, and studying Spanish and Portuguese. Maryanne Mowen is Associate Professor of Accounting at Oklahoma State University. She received her Ph.D. from Arizona State University in 1979. Dr. Mowen brings an interdisciplinary perspective to teaching and writing in cost and management accounting, with degrees in history and economics. In addition, she does scholary research in behavioral decision theory. She has consulted for a variety of companies, including IBM and Phelps Dodge. Her interests outside the classroom include reading, playing golf, traveling, and working crossword puzzles.
